Those who went there commented that it is difficult to separate its rich history from its daily role in writing the future, and that Moscow is both dictator and victim of events that provokes such comments. Think only can feel it if we stand in Red Square to feel the difference between those familiar images with the actuality!

Some money saving or useful traveling tips that you might want to take note of:

Migration card and other official documents – make sure it is with you all the time until you leave the country, in case you are stopped by the police or an imposter looking to collect “fines.”

<img $r="true" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb5u-TUKBoHbfqVSM1jVUXakZF6spSH1tPY3RxdKZYzUolyUZvytL5fkEv6IaJQ0AQdxiG-izZ3H48xDtsnLNCVcQ3pD9I2xxK7ztZWyXINJpmvrqqwrc7Dh7kOc7iVjQJwxw_Jr9rJsBZ/s400/Kremlin.jpg" />

Moscow Kremlin from Bolshoi Kamenny bridge. It is worth much more than a photo opportunity.

Avoid being robbed or mugged – the common sense measures shall include: don’t travel alone at night in unfamiliar areas, keep expensive items out of sight as much as possible, and avoid crowded metro cars where pickpockets may operate and so on.

<img $r="true" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIFLxM8DryJM1NskiOMyoGeFlOiZ2Aflr01SPtU6EvEu9m8PJ0bXR8U8wJoXodydQOG5p4g085_7NQDZkoRJk-E8hLk9_Xgyvpqv824udPiEuXA-dGt27oF83yVujdYKOj05-E_v4roxhM/s400/Metro+Station.jpg" />

Moscow's metro stations are resembled palaces or cathedrals. It is fabulous with their marble-clad walls, chandelier lighting, and other precious interior.

Buy and drink vodka – alcohol counterfeiting is common since and as there are hundreds of brands of vodka in Russia. Nevertheless, two of the best that you might want to consider are Flagman and Russky Standart. You might want to know that Vodka is drunk everywhere socially in Moscow, Russia, hence you may want to join in for a round when a Russian taps his throat for dusha-dushe (i.e. for soul to soul, if I am right)!

<img $r="true" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfLd5b0HvXtNglXEv9C7SQ-Cmu_lfjkWfrKVNKFia9EeLCDuKNhw_i0-L9iU8p8dOEv_Y3Kf8OzvL6F9VBgg21wpf-4Lgsf4OaowRTxnci0bSeyy8cMnbPSZccu-GmhxEy4snvQR0ZHYGy/s400/Arbat.jpg" />

Arbat, many still said that it is still the repository of Moscow’s quirkiest corners.

Mind your feet – Shoes are very important in Russia, and must always be kept clean regardless of the weather conditions. Always remove your shoes at the entryway when entering a Russian home. In some interesting places such as museums, galleries, palaces, visitors may be asked to put on special shoes, such as plastic booties (similar to the kind surgeons wear)!

<img $r="true" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikQTmIKZpRP8Z4VBSB0U_9ICjDGKLoXJjP-0mDBY8hr3C7z05GINjTPJ-fQMjSdqXMU-2ptK3kKJTtEEGeGgq_zQjNz1WiPfJk-suH7zN7lK5QbedOA9gT5YMxPfM9KRSfNxxDlRYhbYr3/s400/lenin+tomb.jpg" />

Lenin’s Tomb in Red Square. A popular mausoleum because the embalmed body of Lenin has been on public display there since the year he died in 1924, you may want to imagine you are reviewing a parade from the podium!

When is the best time to visit those interesting places? Can be anytime, but April to June and September to November are most comfortable.Hui Linghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11046471844578371734noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5317228587428336788.post-2337741421935107322009-10-07T14:56:00.000-07:002010-04-21T06:58:45.604-07:00Taiwan Taipei for Tea, Shopping, Temple and Tai ChiTaipei (although many regard it as a small village) has a wealth of magnificent architecture throughout its history, from the 17th-century Kuantu Temple to the modern Taipei 101, and is an important centre for the export of tea today.

...read more

Taipei 101 Towers by night. If not, you may want to pay a visit to KL Bird Park, which was opened in 1991, and is located within the serene and scenic Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens, and is about 10 minutes away from the Kuala Lumpur city centre in Malaysia.

What I find about the main feature that distinguishes KL Bird Park from any other bird parks is the concept of their free-flight. Why I say so? Well, upon entering the door of KL Bird Park is as if we are stepping into an enormous bird cage, where visitors will have a chance to witness at close proximity with various bird species living together as a perfectly balanced community in this semi-natural environment!

You may want to know that it is sprawling approximately 21 acres of verdant valley terrain, and the park is divided into 4 different zones. What I know is that it is home to over 3,000 birds of 200 local and foreign bird species.

If you want to taste Malaysian cuisines, then the Hornbill Restaurant & Cafe there, which offers a wide variety of local and western cuisines, and together with their unique architecture of wooden Malay Kampung house and its subtle interior sure will give visitors that kind of perfect ambience for dining pleasure. Another thing is that the restaurant is equipped with free Wi-Fi.

What follows is a quick glance of Malaysia’s KL Bird Park:

Egg Incubation Room & Nurse
Ever want to watch how chicken eggs are artificially incubated using incubators? Not only that, if you are lucky you might have the chance to see with your very own eyes the real live hatching of adorable chicks and ducklings!

The Feathered Friends Photo Booth
Wanted to have a beautiful photo with birds? Here is the chance to be up-close-and-personal with the colourful and tame birds. Think this will definitely be a perfect souvenir for some, right? You can choose to use your own camera or their instant digital photo service.

Peacock & Hornbill Gift Shop
If you want to take home with some unique souvenirs and exclusive merchandise as a memento of an exciting adventure to be remembered, then this is the shop to visit. As far as I know, this Peacock & Hornbill Gift Shop offers a wide selection of unique souvenirs and KL Bird Park's exclusive.

World of Parrots
This mini bird aviary is specially designed to accommodate various species of parrots in their collection. What I see is that it consists of macaws, cockatoos, lodes and parakeets.

Bird Show
Also, don't miss their event highlight of the day, i.e. the KL Bird Park Bird Show happening at the semi-open air Amphitheater at 12.30pm and 3.30pm daily. I have missed it while there! The Amphitheater has a 400 seating capacity with a first-come-first-serve seating arrangement.

Hornbill Park
The magnificently landscaped Hornbill Park is home to their majestic pair of Rhinoceros Hornbill, one of the largest hornbill species in the world.

Brahminy Land
Brahminy Land exhibits Malaysia’s KL Bird Park collection of Brahminy Kites, one of the local bird of prey species in Malaysia. Watch these awesome predators in action during the Eagle Feeding at 2.30pm daily.

Bird Gallery & Education Center
This is a bird gallery and education center for visitors to learn more on the many aspects of bird life.

Flamingo Pond
This is perfect for us to catch a glimpse of their Flamingos that gracefully sun-bathing in a beautifully landscaped pond complete with a scenic man-made waterfall.

And if you want to see the finest collective of Georgian architecture ever built, just walk down Henrietta Street to the nearby King's Inns building.

I am not too sure is this the reason that make Dublin a favorite tourist spot, and that people like to say that Dublin is a place that pulses with energy and life by day and night. One thing I am sure is that if we were to visit the area around the river and the famous O'Connell Bridge, it summarizes one unarguable truth about modern Dublin, i.e. with more than half the population under 25, and fun-lovers jetting in from all over Europe. Notable areas in this context are Temple Bar with its winding, cobbled thoroughfares, and the streets around St Stephen's Green.

Trinity College's 16th century precinct, with the Old Library containing Ireland's most famous book, the illuminated 8th century manuscript known as the Book of Kells.

Dublin's Main Post Office on O'Connell Street, where Patrick Pearse proclaimed Irish independence on Easter Day in 1916 and the bullet holes that sum up the British response.

The Dublin Writers' Museum in Parnell Square, dedicated to the Dublin's incomparable literary history.

When should we visit all those places of interest? Any time, as the city never sleeps and is popular for weekend breaks, and St Patrick's Day (17 March) is very special though!
Before I forget, Dublin was voted 'friendliest city in Europe' in 2007!
Then you may feel excited to know that Samsonite has joined forces with Formula 1 racing giant, McLaren to come out with a premium range of travel gear, i.e. under the co-branding name of McLarenSport and Samsonite Black Label.

From what I know, the completed collection is set to debut in Fall or Winter in 2009, whereby a high quality laptop backpack and 75cm duffel upright is set to be rolled out. Good news is that this premium travel gear collection will be distributed by Samsonite in its stores, as well as in the most exclusive bags and leather goods shops worldwide.
You may want to know that the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team has been traveling with the prototype styles since the first Grand Prix of the 2009 season in Australia.
Noticeable symptoms include pain and tenderness, swelling, redness and increased warmth in one leg.

To avoid sleeping too much during long travels, it cautions that travelers are advised to get up and walk around at least every two hours, and to avoid sleeping more than four hours at a time. For those who are unable to do so, they should extend both their legs and exercise while seated. They should also drink more water or juices, wear loose-fitting clothing, eat light meals and limit their alcohol consumption.

For health and wellness sake, the conclusion is to avoid sleeping too much during long travels.Hui Linghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11046471844578371734noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5317228587428336788.post-56870553376132434032009-07-05T14:30:00.000-07:002010-04-13T07:13:13.609-07:00Mexico City – City of Superlatives
Mexico City, is the oldest, highest, and most populous city in North America. No doubt, it is no longer the capital of the world, but Rome is certainly an epic, bubbling-over metropolis harbouring lost empires. I believe you have heard countless stories about this, right?

The following travel-safe strategies might help to certain extent:

Use a nondescript bag
Corey Sandler, author of Laptop For Dummies suggests removing any computer logos from our bag as it only advertises its expensive contents.

Know our numbers
It is advisable to write down our laptop's serial and model numbers (can usually be found at the bottom of our laptop). They'll come in handy if we need to report a loss.

Keep our password separate
Do you have an inclination to write down your passwords on a piece of paper and leave it in your laptop bag? Please “Never” as it will only make it easier for the thief to access our information.

Don’t lose sight of our laptop
For example, when at the airport, try to place our laptop together with our coat and shoes through the airport X-ray machine. Remember to pass through the metal detector at the same time as our computer passes the scanning machine. Who knows someone unwanted can keep track of the items behind us.

Encrypt the data
I believe with Windows XP and Windows Vista, it is easier for us to encrypt important files and folders. That is to say that even if someone gains access to our files, encryption gives us another layer of protection.

Display our contact information
Always make sure our bag has tags bearing our name and phone number but for safety reason we should never include our home and office addresses or even the name of our company.

Avoid leaving our laptop in the hotel room
It is good to know that the hotel room may not be completely secure. In this case, by putting the "do not disturb" sign on the door might help.Hui Linghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11046471844578371734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5317228587428336788.post-75779446847599480632009-03-02T13:45:00.000-08:002009-03-02T14:22:02.424-08:00Vacation Packages, Travel Deals and Promotions in the French Alps
Here is a last-minute ski offers from PV-Holidays for next week 7th -14th March.
Well, whether we are in the reefs of South China Sea or the far-flung Caribbean islands, there are hundreds of diving destinations just waiting for us to explore. So how do we choose? It's always best to start at home. For Malaysians, it is good to start at some of Malaysia's top dive sites like Redang, Perhentian, Tioman and Sipadan.

Whatever it is, get ourselves certified as a diver first, once through, the ocean is our oyster! In this case, we may need to look out for PADI (i.e. short for Professional Association of Diving Instructors) dive courses, which offer recognised diving certificates. It is good to know that recreational scuba diving is a sport that opens to any age, size and gender, i.e. just about anyone can become a diver.

With this, and wherever we go for our future diving holiday, we can rent scuba gear from any dive centre. Sound good to be adventurous and want to try it out, right? Once you start diving, I believe you'll discover the natural beauty of the underwater world, and a deeper appreciation for the environment.

On the same note, scuba diving is believed to be the "new yoga," as it gives similar results, i.e. that our body becomes relaxed whilst swimming in a gravity-free environment. Likewise, doing slow breathing exercises during diving is just like meditation, and observing beautiful sea life is stimulating, don’t you agree with me?

Think it is time for us to plan a diving excursion to places of interest now!Hui Linghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11046471844578371734noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5317228587428336788.post-87722450279748155092009-02-28T21:47:00.000-08:002010-04-13T07:21:54.148-07:00Prague – Europe best preserved beautiful city with good luck statueWant to visit the best preserved cities in Europe?
Known as the Venice of Asia, Bangkok is also famous for its many canals, floating markets and of course the notorious traffic jams. Not to forget that the giant reclining statue of Buddha at the Wat Pho temple (a must see and should be on everyone’s Bangkok places of interest travel itinerary) is another landmark.

To visit those must see, let us start with the stunning majestic Thai-European architecture, i.e. Royal Grand Palace. My favorite things is to hire a longtail boat just before sunset and work my way upriver toward the Grand Palace to see it lit up at night. We can actually stop at Wat Arun or the Royal Barges on our way up during daylight provided they are still open, and wander the little canals on our way up and back. Next, head to Vimanmek Mansion Museum to feast our eyes on artefacts made from porcelain, silver and perhaps gold, or some rare finds raised from Thailand's ocean-bed. Take a boat tour down the canals that make up the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.

Wanted a taste of Bangkok's bustling night life? I will walk down hip Kaosan Road. Like shopping? Believe shopholics will love Siam Square with its designer wear and bargain buys!

No worries about food and board, as they are not that expensive. In fact, food there is cheap and easily accessible from food carts and eateries. For example, the chain there like Anna's Café serves yummy Thai fare for less than US$2 per dish. For lodgings, Wood Lands Inn on Chareon Krung Road offers clean rooms at US$26 per twin room basis.

Another interesting fact we may want to know when visiting those interesting places in Bangkok is that Thais do eat with a fork and a spoon and not just with chopsticks, i.e. Thais used chopsticks when eating Chinese dishes.Hui Linghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11046471844578371734noreply@blogger.com5
