Ask anyone anywhere what a good tip is and most likely we’ll get the same answer, i.e. whatever the level of service merits. However, if we take a closer look, we will know that tipping is a practice heavily rooted in cultural context.

i was in argentina april 2009, had no problems with tipping or breaking bills, it was actually the opposite, waiters were always great, friendly and helpfull, a very big difference with NY waiters that expect 15 to 20% tip even when they suck...the only time u have to make sure u have change is when u take taxis, there are drivers that may try to rip u off and say they dont have change, just tell them to stop somewhere so u can brake ur bill and magically they will find some change in their pockets...
